British Co-educational Day and Boarding School Opens September 2027 to Educate 1,500 Students
Wellington College International (WCI), in partnership with Rendeavour, Africa's largest new city builder, will open Wellington College International Lagos in September 2027. Located in Alaro City, Lagos, Nigeria, this premium co-educational day and boarding school will educate 1,500 students aged 3–18, offering world-class academic excellence and holistic education closer to home for Nigerian families.
To mark this significant milestone, an official launch event will take place at the end of January 2026 in Lagos, Nigeria, bringing together distinguished leaders in education, business, and public service with senior leaders of the Wellington College International and Rendeavour teams to celebrate the beginning of this new chapter for Wellington College International in West Africa.

The campus, designed by award-winning British architects MICA, will feature state-of-the-art facilities and follow the English National Curriculum, culminating in A Levels. Students will benefit from exceptional teaching in academics, sports, music, and the arts, alongside leadership in emerging fields such as AI and entrepreneurship.
Why This Matters
Nigeria's dynamic economy and rich culture make it the ideal location for Wellington College's first school in Africa. Historically, Nigerian families have sought international education abroad; WCI Lagos brings that standard of excellence to West Africa.
