Joseph Bailie

Since qualifying, Joseph has worked in a number of schools across the United Kingdom, particularly England and Northern Ireland. He has worked with Pre-Prep and Prep classes, with pupils from various backgrounds. He has also worked as Head of Assessment and Literacy in his previous UK schools and hopes to take on more responsibilities at Wellington College. Joseph moved to Shanghai in 2017 for his first international role and is delighted to be joining the Wellington College team.

Before becoming a teacher, Joseph once worked as a scientist with a clinical diagnostic company in Northern Ireland. Afterwards, Joseph completed his undergraduate degree (BSc applied psychology) and teaching qualification (PGCE) at Durham University, UK. Currently, he is studying for his MA in education, again with Durham University. Always seeking to earn further qualifications, Joseph also has his football and rugby coaching certificates.

Moving to China in 2017, Joseph has fallen in love with China and the continent of Asia. He has spent a lot of time exploring this fantastic country and has no plans to stop! In addition to exploring new places, Joseph is a keen baker, enjoys the outdoors and watching rugby with his friends. Within the next year, Joseph plans to get his motorcycle driving licence in China.
