Another year of Oxbridge and Ivy League offers for our pupils
We are immensely proud to announce that graduating pupils from across the Wellington College China group have received an impressive set of offers from the world’s top universities. These have included offers from Oxford and Cambridge, as well as Ivy League universities like Cornell, Brown and the University of Pennsylvania.
These are the traditional benchmark for success that all schools strive to achieve. The level and depth of achievement, however, far exceeds even this impressive measurement. Amongst those who have so far received their decisions, more than one in four pupils have received an offer from a top-20 ranked institution (QS World Rankings 2023) with, overall, offers received from half of these world-leading institutions.
Additionally, offers have been received from some of the world's top specialist colleges, with several from top-ranked art and design schools (QS Art and Design Rankings 2023) like UAL (#2), The New School (#4), Pratt (#6), School of the Art Institute of Chicago (#11), The Glasgow School of Art (#12) and School of Visual Arts in New York(#21).
Offers have come from schools in destinations across the globe, including the US, Canada, the UK, Australia and Asia. And our Leavers are pursuing degrees in fields that are equally diverse, like architecture, engineering, economics, political science, international relations, philosophy and maths.
This speaks to Wellington’s unique holistic education provision. It is also a testament to the University Guidance Teams at all our schools. Our specialists work with our pupils starting in year 9, helping them to identify their skills and interests, choose the right courses and cultivate the attributes that universities value. They identify internship opportunities for our pupils and organise career talks and a host of activities that help our pupils build their CVs as well.
