Xinyan Zhang is a passionate and professional educator who is dedicated to Chinese language and literature, psychology of Child Development and cross-culture communication. She understands the various needs of students drawing on her own experience teaching overseas and locally, and she is an innovative facilitator whose mindset is shaped by both eastern and western culture.
With a master’s degree in teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages from East China Normal University, Xinyan gained her experience and reputation in teaching throughout American international school, public school in Melbourne, and was a founding member (progress leader) of a well-known British curriculum based Chinese international school. She is also a certified positive discipline parent trainer and found it really makes life easier for both her and her child. To inspire pupils to be the best version of themselves, she believes teachers must try to be the best version of themselves. As a growth-mindset believer, she keeps an open mind participating in Professional Development sessions and workshops, organizing school events, running a non-profit mother and child reading club, learning from wonderful colleagues and reading a lot.
When she is not teaching, she likes exploring the world through reading, travelling, making friends of various cultures and spending time with her family.
