Jean-Paul is an old Wellingtonian, having attended the College from 1989 until 1994 where he was an enthusiastic member of the Talbot House.
He graduated from the School of Oriental and African Studies (University of London), in 1998 with a BA in Political Science
Jean-Paul is a Managing Director for Goldman Sachs in Hong Kong. He has been in the finance industry in Asia for 19 years, primarily based in Hong Kong but also spending several years in Tokyo. He began his career at a distressed debt fund before moving to ING Barings in a Convertible Bond sales role. He then worked at Nomura before joining Goldman Sachs in 2005 in Tokyo. He relocated back to Hong Kong to sell Convertible bonds and Equity derivatives in 2007. In 2010 he took over the institutional middle market sales business before moving to Private Wealth Management in 2014 to take over the capital markets businesses in Asia. His role involves advising Ultra-High Net Worth Clients in the region on protecting and investing their wealth.
Jean-Paul is an avid sailor, having represented Hong Kong a number of times over the years and is also an enthusiastic snowboarder and golfer. He is married to Tamsin and has two young children.
