Jack North

Jack graduated from the University of Portsmouth, UK in 2008, having completed a BSc Honours degree in sport and exercise science. Jack attended Middlesex University, UK, to complete his PGCE. Jack’s first teaching post was at Enfield Grammar School, in 2010, where he worked for several successful and enjoyable years. He then worked at the British International School of Shanghai for two years.

Jack is experienced in teaching KS3 science and all PE exam courses; he was the lead practitioner of A level PE at Enfield Grammar School and implemented the IB sport science course at BISS. He has held Head of Year positions at both his former schools. Jack takes pleasure in seeing his pupils achieve their goals in and outside of the classroom and wholeheartedly believes in the importance of holistic education. He believes that physical education and sport give young people the self-esteem, leadership, discipline and interpersonal skills to be successful in life.

Jack enjoys a number of sports but most notably rugby. He was an active member of his local rugby club back home and is currently a member of the Shanghai Dolphins Rugby Club. Jack is excited to continue his adventure of living in Shanghai with his wife Alexandra.
