Christy studied for her Bachelor of Education – Primary Teaching degree in Wellington, New Zealand. Additionally, she is a licensed tutor for teaching ESL pupils in mainstream classrooms and ESL in mainstream for the early learner.
Christy has taught in a variety of countries and settings, including New Zealand as a programme developer and educator at the National Museum, as well as teaching primary in Bristol, England and ESL in Kagoshima, Japan. She has spent the last 10 years as an EAL teacher and coordinator at Dulwich College Beijing, the first four years in the Early Years and Key Stage 1 and more recently in Key Stage 2 with pupils across years 3-6.
Christy’s happy place is either when she is with her husband Peter and their two children, Mac in year 3 and Atticus in year 1, or when she’s out in nature, scrambling along trails and hidden paths. The whole family is very much looking forward to moving to Shanghai and continuing their adventure in China.
