This is Cherry’s third year being in Wellington China family and her seventh year working with young learners. Cherry worked as a co-teacher in Hong Qiao International School in Shanghai from 2010 – 2014 after graduating, and then joined Wellington College International Shanghai in August, 2014. She had full teaching experiences in Early Years classes aged from 2-5 and also with bilingual and EAL children. From her own cultural and educational background, she is well-versed in cultural differences and challenges, making her more aware, responsive, as well as more sensitive to the needs of various cultural backgrounds students.
Cherry was born in China and have finished her Early Years, Prep, Junior school in Shanghai and then continued her Senior and Higher education in Australia, where she lived for seven years. In 2009, Cherry had graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education and became a qualified teacher in Australia.
Cherry is excited and looking forward to starting her exciting journey in Pre-nursery this academic year and believes that every child is unique and has a lot of potential in exploring and learning the world. With Wellington’s Eight Aptitudes, she is willing to provide an open-minded and creative learning environment for students to develop their personal, social and academic skills and thus become more independent and succeed in the future life.
In her free time, Cherry enjoys like reading and swimming, as well as travelling a lot to meet different people and cultures.
