SCIENCE WEEK

Pupils across the college celebrate science through a vast array of activities. The prep school have huge science fairs to display their projects to staff and parents, and the senior school, led by the sixth form, have a staggering variety of sessions to drop throughout the week. The week is usually rounded off with the annual science week assembly during which there are displays of science-inspired music, sixth form demonstrations and results of the house competitions.

Science Week 2019

March 4-8

This year’s science week was based on the theme “knowledge is power”. Pupils across the college celebrated knowledge through a vast array of activities. In Pre-Prep pupils created volcanos, played music using scientific apparatus, and were entertained with a liquid nitrogen show. The Prep School had three huge science fairs, to display their projects to staff and parents, and the Senior School, led by the sixth form, had a staggering variety of sessions throughout the week.

January 22-26

Science Week 2018 saw Wellington enjoy a week-long voyage of scientific discovery full of “eureka” moments for everyone involved. With such a packed schedule, it was all but impossible to catch everything going on. Science Week 2017

February 20-24

During Science Week 2017, four of our top IB science pupils – Shirley Park, Elisa Dalle Piagge, Joseph Cooper and Joseph Hua – decided to put on a demonstration of several short but dramatic experiments followed by a hands-on participation session to get many of the younger Wellingtonians excited about the practical applications of their chosen subject.
