WCIH Founding Family Luncheon: A Celebration of Community!

On Wednesday, September 12th 2018, the opening of Wellington College International Hangzhou was celebrated through a ‘Founding Parent Luncheon’. This community event was aimed at thanking those founding parents who have placed their trust in Wellington, and joined us from the very beginning of the special journey.

Representatives of the Wellington College International Hangzhou Community attended a Founding Family Luncheon to celebrate the opening of the school.

Parents had an opportunity to meet and mingle with special guests who had travelled to Hangzhou specifically for the event, and to attend the Huili School Hangzhou opening ceremony. Guests included Ms. Jing Liu, Head of the Education and Skills Department for International Trade of the British Embassy Beijing, Mr. Wai-Kit Ho, Consul Bilateral of the British Consulate Shanghai, Ms. Felicity Kirk, Board of Governors, Wellington College, Ms. Joy Qiao, Chair of Governors, Wellington College China, Ms. Helen Kavanagh, Chief Executive Officer, and many more guests from The Wellington College in England, Wellington College International Bangkok, and Wellington College China.

It was a fun and relaxing event, and provided a great opportunity for this budding community to come together and celebrate our unique identity and solidarity with the Wellington College family of schools.

Mr. Paul Rogers, Founding Executive Master of Wellington College Hangzhou welcomed all attendees with a heartfelt speech.

Mr. Scott Bryan, International Business Director of Wellington College delivered a congratulation speech.   

Founding Parents were congratulated by Mr. Julian Thomas, master of The Wellington College in England through a special video message.

A Cake Cutting Ceremony celebrated the opening of Wellington College International Hangzhou.

Parents and guests socialised throughout the Founding Family Luncheon.

The event ended with a full campus tour, with the international guests overwhelmed by the scale and quality of the campus.
