Central Office

Wellington College China strives for all round excellence. Having successfully established schools in Tianjin (2011) and Shanghai (2014 and 2016), is pleased to be launching sister schools for Chinese children in Shanghai and Hangzhou in August 2018. These schools are set up and established by Huili Education. The Huili Schools offer a bilingual curriculum, fully compliant with Chinese requirements, whilst blending the best of British and Chinese pedagogy.   2018 also sees a further Wellington College International school open its doors in Hangzhou.

To support the schools in achieving excellence, Wellington has a Central Office which sets standards and strengthens operations. It operates across the whole family of schools, providing group level strategy and local level support, guidance and training. Working alongside the colleges and schools in cooperation with their leaders, the Central Office team provide expertise in the areas of human resources, finance, information technology, marketing, facilities, leadership and academics.

Central Office also operates the Huili Institute of Learning, a teacher training and professional development programme that aims to train the best bilingual teachers in China and the Wellington Academy, which offers a range of academic, sports and Arts programmes to children to enrich their educational experience and allow them to excel, wherever their talents may lie.

Finally, Central Office leads on the development of new projects in China from the design stage through to curriculum development and pre-opening operations.
